ATS Resume Audit#

Don't let a robot reject your application. The ATS Resume Audit evaluates how well your resume matches a job description and flags formatting or keyword issues that might trip up an Applicant Tracking System.

Why it exists#

Over 70% of resumes are filtered out by ATS software before a human ever sees them. Often, qualified candidates are rejected simply because they are missing specific keywords or used an unreadable layout. This tool simulates an ATS to help you optimize your resume for every application.

How it works#

The Audit compares your saved resume against the job description. It calculates a Match Score (0-100%) and provides a detailed breakdown of missing keywords, formatting errors, and length recommendations.

Do not "keyword stuff" (hide white text on a white background). Modern ATS systems can detect this and will automatically flag your application as spam.

Step-by-step instructions#

  1. Open the specific job card from your Job Board.
  2. Navigate to the AI Assistant tab.
  3. Select ATS Resume Audit.
  4. Upload a tailored version of your resume, or select your Master Resume.
  5. Click Run Audit.
  6. Review your Match Score and the list of recommended changes.

Tips#

Aim for a Match Score of 80% or higher before submitting your application. Diminishing returns apply past 90%.

Best Practices#

  • Stick to standard formatting: Avoid complex tables, columns, and graphics in your resume. ATS parsers read left-to-right, top-to-bottom.
  • Use exact matches: If the job asks for "Customer Relationship Management," don't just write "CRM." Use the exact phrasing from the job description.
  • Action verbs matter: The audit checks for strong action verbs. Ensure your bullet points start with words like "Spearheaded," "Developed," or "Analyzed."

FAQ#

Does a 100% score guarantee an interview? No. The audit ensures you get past the initial automated screening, but a human recruiter will still make the final decision based on your experience.

What file types can I audit? We currently support PDF and DOCX files for auditing.
