Creating a New Application
Learn how to add new job opportunities into Trackr manually or using automation.
Creating a New Application#
Overview#
Adding a job to Trackr is the first step in organizing your job search. You can add applications manually, save jobs for later, or use our smart email parser to automatically create records from application confirmation emails.

Why it exists#
To give you a single source of truth, every opportunity needs to be logged. We've built multiple ways to create applications so that data entry never slows down your job hunt.
How it works#
You can create an application from anywhere within the Trackr dashboard. Once created, it becomes a living document where you'll store notes, contacts, and status updates.
Step-by-step instructions#
Method 1: Manual Creation#
- Click the "New Application" button in the top right corner of your dashboard.
- Enter the Company Name and Job Title. (Trackr will suggest company logos automatically!)
- Paste the URL of the job description.
- Select the current Status (usually "Saved" or "Applied").
- Click "Save Application".
Method 2: Smart Email Parser#
- Locate a "Thank you for applying" confirmation email in your inbox.
- Forward the email to
add@trackr-inbox.comfrom your registered email address. - Trackr's AI will parse the company, role, and date, creating a new application in the "Applied" state automatically.
Tips#
Best Practices#
- Include the Job Description: Always paste the job description text or link. Companies often take down the posting once they start interviewing, and you'll want to reference it later.
- Log immediately: Don't wait until the end of the week to log your applications. Do it as soon as you apply.
FAQ#
Q: Why didn't the email parser work? A: Ensure you are forwarding the email from the exact email address associated with your Trackr account.
Q: Can I import a spreadsheet of my old applications? A: Yes! Go to Settings > Import to upload a CSV file.
