Searching Your Applications#

Find exactly what you need in milliseconds, even if you can't remember the exact company name.

Overview#

The search bar is the fastest way to locate a specific application. Trackr's global search indexes company names, job titles, and even the contents of your personal notes.

Why it exists#

When a recruiter calls out of the blue, you don't have time to scroll through a List view. You need to pull up their company profile instantly to sound prepared.

How it works#

Our search engine uses fuzzy matching, which means it can handle minor typos and partial words. It searches across all fields simultaneously.

Step-by-step instructions#

Click into the Search bar at the very top of the Trackr interface (or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + K).
Start typing your query (e.g., "Google", "Frontend", or the recruiter's name "Sarah").
Results will appear instantly below the search bar in a dropdown.
Use your arrow keys to navigate the results and press Enter to open the application detail view.

Tips#

Use the Cmd + K (Mac) or Ctrl + K (Windows) keyboard shortcut to open the search bar from anywhere in the app instantly.

Best Practices#

Search by person: If you put interviewer names in your notes, you can search for them later if they switch companies and reach out to you again.
Combined power: Search and Filtering can be used together. Filter for "Rejected" and search "Senior" to see all Senior roles you didn't land.

FAQ#

Q: Does search look at the original job description I pasted? A: Yes! If you remember a job required "GraphQL" but forgot the company, just search "GraphQL" and any application with that in the description will appear.
