Job Applications Overview#

Welcome to the core of Trackr! This is where you manage your entire job search journey from first discovery to final offer.

Overview#

The Job Applications section is the heart of Trackr. It provides a centralized hub to track every job you've applied for, are preparing to apply for, or have interviewed with.

Why it exists#

Managing a job search across dozens of companies using spreadsheets is tedious and prone to errors. Trackr exists to bring order to this chaos, ensuring you never miss a follow-up, forget an interview detail, or lose track of where you stand with a potential employer.

How it works#

Every job opportunity you discover becomes an "Application" in Trackr. As you move through the hiring process, you update the application's status to reflect reality. Trackr uses these statuses to provide analytics, reminders, and clear visibility into your pipeline.

The Application Lifecycle#

  1. Saved: You've found an interesting job but haven't applied yet.
  2. Applied: You've submitted your resume and cover letter.
  3. Screening: You're talking to a recruiter or doing a take-home assignment.
  4. Interviewing: You're meeting with the team (technical, behavioral, etc.).
  5. Offer: Congratulations! You have an offer in hand.
  6. Hired / Rejected / Withdrawn: The terminal states of an application.

Tips#

Keep your statuses updated daily to ensure your metrics and reminders are accurate.

Best Practices#

  • Add context: Use the notes section in each application to jot down thoughts immediately after an interview.
  • Archive, don't delete: If a job falls through, mark it as Rejected rather than deleting it. This preserves your data for future insights.

FAQ#

Q: Can I customize the statuses? A: Trackr provides a standardized set of statuses designed to fit 99% of hiring processes and power our AI insights, so they cannot be changed currently.
