Uploading a Resume#

Adding your resumes to Trackr is the first step toward a more organized job hunt. This guide will walk you through the upload process.

Overview#

The upload feature allows you to securely store your resumes in the cloud, making them accessible from any device where you use Trackr. You can upload multiple resumes to suit different roles or industries.

Why it exists#

To effectively track which document got you the interview, Trackr needs your resumes in the system. Uploading them ensures you have a single source of truth for all your application materials, completely eliminating the "which resume did I send?" panic.

How it works#

The upload process accepts PDF and DOCX files up to 5MB in size. Once uploaded, Trackr parses the basic metadata (filename, upload date) and stores the file securely. You can then attach it directly to any job in your pipeline.

While we accept both PDF and DOCX, we strongly recommend uploading PDFs to ensure the formatting looks exactly the same to the recruiter as it does to you.

Step-by-step instructions#

  1. Go to the Resumes section from the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the + New Resume button.
  3. Drag and drop your file into the upload zone, or click Browse Files to select it from your computer.
  4. (Optional) Rename the file in the Display Name field. This name is only visible to you in Trackr.
  5. Add relevant tags (e.g., "Remote", "Frontend", "Management") to help organize your documents.
  6. Click Upload Document.

Your resume has been successfully uploaded and is ready to be used!

Tips#

  • You can drag and drop directly onto the Resumes dashboard page to instantly trigger the upload modal.
  • Use tags strategically to filter your resumes later when applying for specific types of roles.

Best Practices#

  • Make sure your actual file name (not just the Trackr display name) is professional (e.g., Jane_Doe_Resume_2024.pdf), as this is the filename recruiters will see when you download and email it or submit it externally.

FAQ#

What file formats are supported? We currently support .pdf and .docx files.

Is there a file size limit? Yes, the maximum file size for a single resume upload is 5MB.

Can I upload cover letters here too? While you technically can, we recommend using the dedicated Cover Letters section for better organization and specific cover letter AI tools.
